Tightropes*
*Read some story like that in college. Don’t know what it was called but I guess if I was to write it. That would do. Straight to the point, right?
Once every day, about a million times a day
I swear by my firm belief
That a minority woman gets beat on because of her man’s racist ass experiences with white people at his big wig corporate job.
You know why the haughty, corporately enslaved can get away with this whole angry Black man trope and not accept a shred of sociopolitical depth, self-awareness, reckoning, or accountability?
Because capitalism birthed em, built em, and continues to feed em.
And lack of mental health acceptance, access, affordability, continued stigmatization, and lack of normalization internalizes em.
There’s no excuse for violence against women of color.
There are however; layered explanations.
At the end of the day. We all need to take a shard of that responsibility into our hands and bleed.
Save for the women of color.
We’ve been bleeding out for a long time.
And who is lower than a Black man on a racial chain of no fucks given by Whites in power?
