Help This Mother Understand Why Drag Queens Are Being Deemed Dangerous for Minor Children While Gun Violence Continues to Go Largely Ignored

Texas House Bill 1266 moves to Committee and flaunts anti-drag legislation at its most odd and peculiar indeed

Why are there now laws attempting to ban public drag shows and those who would like to express themselves publicly in drag but still not laws banning guns in our country?

The lawmakers say it is to protect children. But the number one cause of children’s deaths in the US aren’t witnessing a drag Queen in public. It is children dying by firearms.

To clarify.

I do not mind if my son just so happens to see a drag Queen at a parade once every June.

I do however feel very strongly about whether he would be alive or not to see such a person once every June.

What do these lawmakers think is going to happen? What do they think a public drag show does?

Drag shows are not, yes, typically an event I would bring my children. In fact I do believe the only time I have ever encountered professional drag is in 21+ establishments. So I mean, there’s that. Probably not really even anything to…
