I remember growing up, my mom would always point out when a non white woman was on the cover of a magazine. She is white, I am adopted. But ill always remember that about her. She ran over holding up teen people when Jennifer Lopez was on the cover. She took me and my sisters to Texas to visit Selena’s grave bc I was such a huge fan. She cut out newspaper clippings of kristi yamaguchi and put it in my scrapbook growing up. She was really good about representation for minority women. I guess she knew that was so lonely for me. I loved reading this post because representation is so important for sure.
