On Tory Lanez & Violence Against Women of Color
Why Megan holding to her truth is a monumental moment for all women of color who have survived violence.

Admittedly, I never stopped listening to Lanez’ music, and of course, the budding “legal voice” in me will tell me I don’t know who really shot Megan in the foot.
Conversely.
Good thing I have women’s intuition and I’m a loyal woman. Loyal to my sisters. Loyal to Justice. Loyal to what I know is true about us as shadow bodies in a world of misogyny painted as loyalty. Good thing I’m a bad bish. Not in my looks. In counter narratives and peer pressure of the idealization that I’m not a ride or die if I let a man of color catch a case.
Good thing.
Which is why The deeper spirit and truth in me Makes me inclined to believe women, especially a minority woman who had a LOT to lose by telling the truth.
The defense attempted to bring whether Megan slept with Lanez into the case as a evidence she lied about being assaulted. This is absolutely disgusting. Megan is rich and successful but she is still a marginalized woman in our society.
