Typical.
You know. It’s cool to have an evolution; spiritual, physical, professional, political. It’s part of life. It’s part of growth. I myself used to be pro life and, well (cringey yes) anti abortion when I was 18. I voted Republican my first election because of it. Yeah. I know. It was long before life kind of kicked me right out onto Front Street and forced me to make decisions that were deeper than religion, “deeper than the earth,” as the Great Nipsey Hussle would say.
So before that time; I was green, and young, and, for lack of better phrasing, still too afraid to break free from the colonization of my white family. Accordingly, in 2004, I voted for Bush.
It was largely due to his speech post 9–11 in which he stood up for Muslims around the world.
And, because he was pro life.
