The Power of Womxn Healing Womxn

Walking alongside one another as we grow and develop is the power of sisterhood.

I saw some of the most important women in my life tonight at our annual university’s Womxn’s Summit. My former boss was there and asked how I was doing, how my partner was doing.

She has really seen me go through some things with the men in my life, and really it was one of the first times I was able to report to her that I was on solid ground with work life balance, my son is healthy and kind, and my partner is patient and kind.

At some point each day, I am reminded that we can be restored if we work to heal ourselves. There is nothing we have done, nothing we have been through, nothing that has happened to us that we cannot be restored from.

I know I spent a couple of years just trying to really break free from my own demons, from the trauma of being haunted by even remembering. There are women in my life, from therapists to mentors to colleagues to friends, who have walked with me, and continue to do so.
