For some reason, when educated academic circles discuss “people of color” or use BIPOC and AAPI, it really annoys me.
I guess I feel that it’s a little simplistic or condescending. I do use these terms sometimes. I feel like a straight up asshole when I talk like this tho.
Amongst friends, we laugh about even using the term Asian. Like, wtf is that. We’re Korean. When did we get generically clumped together by Whites? 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️
