What Black American History Means to Me as a Korean American Woman

Author’s Collection

Black organizing and the continued fight for equity does not just benefit the Black community.

As a proud Korean American womxn, I am grateful for the Black American community’s fight for Justice, paving the way for all people who have been marginalized or experienced the plight of inequity with our backs against the wall.

I stand with you with a grateful heart. I honor the work of our brothers and Sisters in the Black community, and know that without the courage and commitment of those fighting for Black self determination, my Korean American community would not have the voice and agency we have today.
